Being only ten minutes from the coast is a big attraction for our guests. There are beaches for bathing, rockpooling, gathering mussels, sailing or windsurfing, and a promenade and coastal path for walkers. On the coast and inland lovely small towns have weekly markets selling regional produce, and a good choice of restaurants, small shops and supermarkets. There are numerous other popular locations nearby for a family day out.
Walking, cycling, canoeing and sailing are popular pastimes and there are three golf courses within 35 minutes. There is a modern swimming pool in a nearby town, and the region's biggest water park, is a twenty minute drive. Boat trips operate on the Vilaine river and to the picturesque islands in the Golfe du Morbihan.
The Vilaine Bay and Presqu'isle de Rhuys are hugely popular with French holidaymakers who appreciate the unspoiled nature of the coastline and low level of commercialisation in this thriving area. Nearby villages hold traditional Breton fêtes throughout the summer, and the walled cities of Guèrande and Vannes have medieval fêtes in May and July.
Inland, the delightful village of Rochefort-en-Terre as featured in A Place in the Sun, and voted France's favourite village 2016, is 20 minutes away, and Questembert (10 mins) has a weekly market in the streets surrounding its ancient wooden market hall, and large modern supermarkets on the outskirts.
Closer to home our pretty, thriving local villages of Noyal Muzillac and Le Guerno are a riot of floral colour from May onwards and have bakers and village shops, bars, pizzeria, créperie and restaurants. Vannes with its medieval centre is 25 minutes away and you can ride the mechanical elephant at the Machines de l'îsle at Nantes.
