Our gites are set in our 1/2 acre garden in our traditional Breton longère on the edge of a small hamlet in sunny South Brittany, only 6 miles from the sea, near beaches, Vannes, Rochefort-en-Terre and other main tourist sites. La Porcherie sleeps up to four adults in the upstairs bedrooms which also have plenty of room for a cot, and there's a sofa-bed downstairs for occasional use.
Striking, spacious 17ft X 14ft bright sunny kitchen/dining room with kitchen window and french windows (pictured left) opening onto the terrace and garden, and a large window looking over the lane outside the property where youngsters can spot passing cows, tractors, and so on. High ceiling and exposed granite walls. White fitted kitchen with gas oven, self lighting gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, microwave, filter coffee maker, toaster, and ample crockery, cutlery, and utensils. Iron, ironing board and airing stand. Powerful electric fan, hair dryer. Fire extinguisher, fire blanket; electric sockets are all child shielded. The dining table is spacious for six (and weighs a ton!). The kitchen/dining room extends into the 16ft by 10ft lounge area with small sofa bed, armchairs, and British and French television and video recorder, DVD player. There's an enormous partially exposed beam in the ceiling. A door opens onto the courtyard garden area at the front of the gites beside a wall decorated with geraniums from May to November.
The door to the fully tiled shower room/wc is at the base of the stairs. There is a corner shower with thermostatic controls, seat, washbasin and wc, and a quiet continuous ventilation system.

Bedlinen is provided. In order for guests to enjoy a relaxed journey, visit locations on the way, or take advantage of cheaper daytime ferry crossings, we will welcome arrivals late at night provided we are informed.
We will also consider shorter stays and non Saturday arrivals outside high season - please ask. We live in another house on the premises, and we are available should our advice or assistance be required.
The local village, Noyal Muzillac, is under 1.5 miles away and has a baker, general store, post office, pharmacy, restaurants and cafés. The surrounding minor roads are quiet, fairly level and suitable for cycling or walking. There is a Friday market, shops and supermarkets at Muzillac, 4.5 miles, or at Questembert, 5.5 miles (Monday market), and hypermarkets and city shopping at Vannes (25 minutes)
The seaside is just 12 minutes away, at Pen Lan, it's just 17 minutes to the popular resort of Damgan and many other beaches and resorts in the area offer a wide range of attractions.
